Angry villagers set train ablaze after nine die in accident

At an manned crossing in Siwan, Bihar, a train had collided with a college bus killing 9 engineering students in the bus. Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh Express en route to Delhi had hit the DAV College bus near Chap Dhala, Siwan. Engine of the train got derailed. 18 people have been injured in the accident.

Many sources said that the negligence of the railway officials had caused the accident
Angry villagers in Siwan district of Bihar have set ablaze all bogies of the after nine engineering students reportedly died in a collision between the train and their college bus at a railway crossing today.

The 18 injured have been taken to the Sadar hospital.

Villagers who were angered at the loss of life due to the railway officials' negligence, set the fire on flames.  Fire engines are at the site and are trying to douse the flame.

An inquiry will be conducted into today's accident by the Commissioner of Railway safety, the Railways has announced along with a Rs. 5 lakh as compensation to the families of those who died, and Rs. 1 lakh as compensation for the injured.

Minister for state railways would reach the site of the accident shortly.
