A 30 year old woman had lodged a complaint at the police station that she was abducted forcibly and then gang raped.

According to the victim, she was forcibly picked up into a vehicle of five in Chetla of Southern Kolkata and was then gang raped by at least two members, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) D P Singh said.

The woman was a medical assistant who was walking back home in Tollygunj at the time of the incident. A vehicle stopped by her then she was asked for medical help by the members of the vehicle. But she refused following which she was forced to get into the vehicle and taken to a house. In the house, the woman alleged, that she was raped by two people at least.

The complaint was lodged on Sunday.

Medical tests were performed and the results of the test are awaited. The DCP, D P Singh said that they would take action against the criminals after the test are confirmed.
