The election schedule to presidential election has been released. The Election Commission of India released the schedule of notification on Tuesday evening. The chief election commissioner Sampath has said that the election notification would be released on June 16. He has said that Rajya Sabha secretary general is going to be returning officer of the election, added Sampath.

This is the schedule of presidential election:
June 16: Release of election notification
June 30: Last date for filing nominations
July 2: Scruitny of nominations
July 4: Last date for withdrawing nominations.

Now, the ball is in the Congress court to decide the presidential candidate. The TMC president and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will meet Sonia Gandhi and discuss the presidential candidate. The sources said that the speaker Meira Kumar would be nominated as the Congress candidate.
