Culture Shapes the Environment June 02, 2015 19:07

My intnention is not to blame American Work Culture, but i just want to say " Don't get carried away with something, which is sheer robotic.  From a time, where the office is used to be the ‘home after home’ to the present days, where office has become Home itself – Americanism and its work culture has certainly taught us many more. Now in India, the new era employee is William Blake’s ‘School Boy’. The poem is good to read but hard to digest. Yes, if one loves to work under Centralized Air conditioner and want handsome salary, they need to work accordingly. Nobody denies that. But balancing personal and professional lives is equally important. Earn money, but not at the cost of relationships. We get the most use of today’s ever changing technology, which has erased all the distance barriers around the world. But at the same time, we make ourselves so busy (No, we addicted to being busy!). Scheduling the things till 2020 sounds so good now. Great! But are you spending the same day 365 times and calling it a year? Leading the same day routine for 60 years and calling it a life? If yes, then it’s time to rethink. Work is for Work and fun is for Fun. Don’t mix both In European nations, when workers go on holiday, they really go on holiday—they won’t answer work emails or make business calls. No colleague or manager would even think of sending an employee a late-night text (post office hours) relating to work, yet it happens all the time in America.

Tell your kids to accept requests from those whom they knew and are constantly in touch. Making friends in social media is something which is resulting in dire consequences. No Personal info: Sharing of personal information is a major threat. Uploading pictures, sharing information such as place where we live, schools and colleges cannot be given to a third person. If the information is passed, your children can be easily traced. Educating: This is the most important part. Educating yourself at the same time educating your children will bring the differences. Talk to your kids openly and be a broad minded parent. Never let them down, encourage them and even if they do wrong, instead of reacting quickly, try to pacify them and explain the reason who the wrong should be corrected. Limiting night hours: While we will sleeping, children tend to open internet and see what's going on. A parent should make internet available to children but at the same time they should limit the access of web. Most of the route to threat happen during nights and so kids should limited or make internet unavailable to them in the nights. Other than these, Parents should keep on eye on their kids' social life. Try to be friends with them in social media platforms too. Airtel ad sparks uproar! July 31, 2014 17:27

The new commercial of Airtel, the largest telecom service provider of the country has irked many and was claimed as demoralising stuff. The commercial goes like this, a working woman reaches home and cooks for husband. She does a video call to husband who will working at office and asks him to come home early. Ironically, the husband's wife is his boss and she assigns a huge task to him and directs them to complete as early as possible as they are running short of time. Bharati Airtel is known for producing heart touching ads, for the first time faced the anger of people. Many Twitter users have made bitter comments on the ad. Here are few: Ah, Airtel. You attempt to be 'progressive' and 'feminist'. End up with an ad even more retrograde and sexist than usual! This airtel ad sends the wrong message. A double income, no kids couple can't afford a cook?! Demoralising for management students! The Boss wife Airtel Ad is the latest example of 'trying too hard to look cool while riding on feminism'. Total fail. However adman Prahlad Kakkar has backed the commercial and said there is nothing wrong it. “She's cooked meal with her own hands because it is important to her to cook for her husband. It's special. I think it's perfectly valid ad. Why shouldn't women be bosses in the office? They can still cook for their husbands and still be good housewives. If a wife occasionally cooks a special meal for her husband it means she can't afford a servant? What rubbish?,” added Kakkar. (AW: Vamshi)
