Vidya Balan to perfrom live at Dirty Picture Audio launch

Vidya Balan is now ready to recollect fans with a live performance with other artists at the music launch of the film in Mumbai Friday.

Balaji Production is coming with its new film “Dirty Picture” which is reportedly based on the life of South Indian Sensation Silk Smitha. Vidya Balan is playing the lead role of Silk Smitha and her other co-stars are Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tussar Kapoor.

'Vidya, Emraan (Hashmi), Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor, Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal will perform at the event live,' Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures.

Asked if Vidya will perform to 'Ooh la la', Johar said: 'Yes of course!!!'

The event is to be held at the Inorbit Mall in Malad, starting 6 p.m. It is free for everyone.

'That's the novelty value. We wanted to take the film to the public directly so that they can interact with the stars and enjoy the music,' he added.

The actors themselves are quite excited about the colourful music launch.

'The Dirty Picture', produced by Ekta Kapoor, chronicles the rise to fame, gradual fall and death of southern actress Silk Smitha.

The story of southern sex siren Silk Smitha -- her rise as a glamour girl thanks to her bold and semi-nude roles in movies, and her gradual fall owing to new entrants in the market, her financial crisis and personal problems -- "The Dirty Picture" is set to have Vidya at her glamorous, boldest and sultry best.

The Munnis and the Sheilas of Bollywood can take a backseat for a while because the 33-year-old Vidya, even with her not so washboard abs, might just become every man's fantasy with her titillating moves, curvaceous frame, playfulness, and sensuous ways in her scenes with Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Bollywood's very own serial kisser Emraan Hashmi.

With its into-the-face dialogues, the trailer itself might leave many gasping like Tusshar when Vidya says: "Mujhe jo chahiye uska mazza raat ko hee aata hai" and many ogling like Naseer does when she decks up for a film shoot.

The film carries a complete touch of 80s’ fashion, dress and makeover styles. In that sense, it could be called a periodic film. Director Milan Luthariya has left no stone unturned to make it a perfect masala movie of 80s. The three male heroes of movie play the roles of three men in Silk Smitha’s life, so it would be very interesting to see how Vidya has played her role and handled all these three actors of very different genres on screen. However, it sounds that she has really enjoyed her role and presence of her co-stars in the movie, as she said: “I think I have never enjoyed being a woman more than in Dirty Picture”. The film is scheduled for on 2nd December, the birth anniversary of Silk Smitha.
