Queen Maria reigns in French Opens

Maria Sharapova made a dramatic comeback after an hiatus of over three years when she underwent a shoulder surgery, at the Roland Garros on Saturday. Impeccable play by the Russian crowned her Number one, after beating her Italian opponent Sara Errani 6-3, 6-2 in the French Opens played at Paris.

Sheer dedication amidst surgery hurdles made the contributions significant for the Russian Tennis star. About the come back the Russian dedicated the achievement to all. In the post match talk, "It's been such a journey for me to get to this stage," Sharapova said. "There are so many people to thank, but most importantly, it's my wonderful team that keeps me together."

After conquering all the four grand slams titles in her career she joins the big league of players like, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams and Billie Jean King. The Second seeded Russian, who slid to nearly 126th, will be the Number one on the WTA listing to be released tomorrow. She added this year's French Open title to championships at Wimbledon in 2004, the U.S. Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008.
