Over to Perth for India Vs Sri Lanka ODI

The Team India bowlers did a good job to stop the Sri Lankans from making huge totals, which they planned to.  In the second Commonwealth Bank Series ODI, India takes on Sri Lanka at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground, Perth in Australia on Wednesday. Both the teams have just gone into the dressing room after the first innings. The first innings was dominated by both the Lankan batsmen and the Indian bowlers. Lankans won the toss and elected to bat.

The Lankans played tremendously well and were fully controlling the game, but the Indian bowlers intermittent showers ruined their wickets resulting in 233 runs at the end of fifty overs, for 8 wickets. The batting was powered by L D Chandimal, who was stumped by the Indian skipper, scored 64 runs and followed by 48 by T M Dilshan. In the end A D Mathews made a blistering knock of 33 runs and remained not out.

In the bowling fronts India’s R Ashwin completed a neat spell of ten overs at an average of 3.20 run rate and grabbed three wickets of the oppositions. His efforts were coupled by his senior Zaheer Khan who grabbed another two of the Lankan wickets. The catch of Tharanga taken by Sachin was worth mentioning about the agility of the veteran master blaster.  But much is expected of him and the other batsman in the latter half of the game, which has just begun.  (AarKay)
