With complete planetary orbits, the solar system first scale model, was built by Wylie Overstreet and Alex Gorosh, who sought to explain about the vastness of local neighborhood of planets, dwarf planets, asteroids and comets.
To initiate the adventure, both the people, went to a dry lake bed in Nevada, US and built an inner planets model to 1 astronomical unit scale (AU, or distance from the Sun to Earth) of 577 feet.
