The Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System [DIMTS] has launched a mobile app which enables people to hire an auto using their android phones. App "Pooch-O" was launched by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Friday.
Pooch-O allows users to locate autos, fitted with GPS and can then call its driver, whose numbers are registered with DIMTS. Also commuters can share their travel details on Facebook and Twitter so that their friends and family members can get to know about their location making it a safety application. In addition to this the users can calculate fare of their trip and trace the auto's location after call it.
There 24,000 autos in the national capital with GPS technology and DIMTS is hoping that more autos will come under the usage of GPS. Currently this app is available only for android phone users and developers are preparing iphone application too.
Anyways some good measures to travel safe in the national capital.
