Anti-FIFA Piracy: 472 sites blocked

The Delhi High Court blocked 472 sites and URLs in India that are broadcasting the FIFA World Cup matches without license and permission. Multi Screen Media Discovery Limited [MSM], the distributor for Sony's channels in India has filed a complaint in the court which sought ban on illegal sites and URL which are telecasting the biggest sporting event.

MSM has bought the rights for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives as per the license agreement with FIFA.  

Sony said that it had invested much in the mobile transmission and internet broadband transmission rights and infringing of rights, it is losing service tax. The blacklist includes portals like Google Docs, Google Videos and Goo.gl surprisingly and it also includes file storage and sharing services such as Mega, Bitshare, Rapidshare, Multiupload and others, and regional MP3 download sites, and torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay.
