Egypt has been ruffled once again - this time by a migrating stork!
Authorities have detained a roving bird after a citizen claimed it as a spy bird. The man, apparently spotted the foreign fowl among four others near his home and immediately took it a police station in the Qena governorate, some 280 miles southeast of Cairo.
He believed that the bird was an undercover agent as it had an electronic device attached to its wings.
On investigation, it was found that the device was neither an explosive or a spying device, but a wildlife tracking device installed by French scientist to track the movement of migrating birds.
Following Egypt's military coup that ousted country's president on July 3, officials and citizens have been extremely vigilant. With conspiracy theories easily finding their way into cafe discussion, one has no choice but to remain vigil to thwart any further crisis in the country.
