Nokia Lumia to lower prices in India

The Windows 8 phones have not been receiving a great response as expected before yet due to the lack of a wide range of applications but there are several reasons why you should opt for a Lumia range of phones. The latest addition to the reasons is that the Lumia series of phones would soon receive a price cut further lowering the prices of the phone, according to the Nokia's senior vice president (India, Middle East & Africa) D Shivakumar.

Nokia Lumia Phones are now available in a wide price range, starting from Rs 10,000 – Rs 38,000. The organization has more plans to further lower the prices on the available models such that they become more affordable to the general public and be an active part of the smartphone competition.

The only thing that the phone lacks in at the moment is the application segment. Consider any mobile operating system and the initial period of its growth. They are at an incipient stage and Nokia is now at the same stage in the smartphone world. Given enough time the phones have all the potential to rule the smartphone segment but again depends on the support they receive from the consumer end.

Nokia is eyeing the top end segment to boost their sales, considering that they have splendid hardware on their flagship, Nokia Lumia 920. They are also looking at the Asha series of phones with entertainment and social networking capabilities to woo the lower budget segment. With a proper price drop, and time for the developers to make new applications, the future of Lumia series looks bright.
