Robotic speaker dock that can dance

Georgia Tech have developed a new robot that can dance to the user's music alongside functioning it as a speaker dock playing out your music loud. A kickstarter project had also been initialized to bring it into production.

Shimi, as it had been called is a real-time robot with artificial intelligence and abilities to dance and groove to your tracks. Musically Intelligent Robo, Shimi is basically a speaker dock.

Bearing semblance to a four legged pet, the ears have embedded speakers which play out the music loud. The robot can also detect faces and accordingly move its ears so that the audio is played facing to the user at all times though he is moving.
"Shimi is a real robot with artificial intelligence that analyses music it plays through his speaker-ears and generates real-time unique dance moves to bring the music to life in a fun, cute way," the creators said.

The body of the robot dock has been fitter with five motors that give it the power to dance.
A mic input has also been incorporated which would allow users to control music players via an voice commands or merely ask the player to stream a particular song.
This robot can understand the tapping rhythms and would later adjust accordingly.
The team also promises to keep developing the robot once they hit their 100,000- dollar target.
Efforts are being made to make the robot understand facial expression, learn your musical tastes, and recommend new music to you, the Daily Mail quoted the researchers as saying.
