Auto-pilot car to ease traffic tension

Soon a car from Ford will ease tension for all traffic jams in the daily ordeal. The car will be handled by a special auto-pilot, `Traffic jam Assist' at traffic jams. Inturn lets the driver relax with ease. Once the traffic jam clears and the car attains a 30 kmph speed the driving is handed back to the driver. Sounds good, but in our country it is all the more better. Because at no busy road a vehicle can travel above 30-40 kmph speed and the endurance of this auto-pilot will be put to maximum use! (Well jokes apart.) The Detroit automobile giant ascertained that in five years from now most of its models will be fitted with this auto-pilot.

“Drivers spend more than 30% of their time in heavy traffic,” said Ford engineer Joseph Urhahne. “Traffic Jam Assist could help make traveling through congestion a more relaxing experience and, by keeping pace with the flow of traffic, potentially help relieve road congestion.” Once a jam is detected, the car uses a voice command to ask the driver if he wished to relinquish the control of the car and switch to Traffic Jam Assist. And based on the choice of the driver the car will act accordingly.

Nice one is it not. Technology that gives you relaxation or helps you to pamper self. However, Ford insists that the driver still has to pay some attention. The company also claims that by 2025 all self-driving car would be a reality. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
