Deadline to Michael Clarke

Australian captain Michael Clarke was given deadline by the Cricket Australia National Selectors to proves his fitness by February 21 for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Clarke suffered a hamstring injury during the Test series against India and was ruled out of the complete series after the completion of first Test. He underwent hamstring surgery also and is currently recovering.

However, Clarke who has been included and named as the captain for the Australian squad for World Cup, was asked to prove his fitness levels and if he fails, the National selectors wants to replace him. Also the selectors are looking for a new captain other than George Bailey. In place of Clarke, Bailey led the side but wasn't successful enough. So the selectors are considering Steve Smith who had a great run during the Test series against India.
