Andhra Pradesh will be celebrating its first Republic Day in the new capital of the state, Vijayawada. The sources from the Police Department are considering Nagarjuna University and Indira Gandhi Stadium on Bandar Road for the venue of Republic day and according to the choice of the government, the police department will do the arrangements.

However, Indira Gandhi stadium is most likely to be the preferred venue as earlier quite a few events were hosted at this every ground. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is also convinced with the venue and a formal decision would be taken shortly. But the event would take place in the afternoon because Governor ESL Narasimhan will not be available as he will be taking part in the Telangana state Republic Day celebrations too.
