CAA Protests: Internet Shut in 21 UP Districts:- The Citizenship Amendment Act triggered enough controversies across the country. People stepped on to the roads and staged massive protests against the Law. Security got beefed up in Uttar Pradesh to ensure peace ahead of the Friday prayers. The internet services have been suspended across the 21 districts of Uttar Pradesh. After the widespread violence hit the state, the measures have been taken in Uttar Pradesh. The recent protests across the country killed over 19 people.

“Law and order situation is absolutely under control, we continue to have a strategic deployment of forces, Special Investigation Teams formed to investigate cases. We have suspended internet services in 21 districts,they will be restored as and when the situation demands,” said OP Singh, Uttar Pradesh DGP. The internet services which were resumed after a week are suspended again today. The Uttar Pradesh police also deployed special paramilitary force and drone cameras are used to monitor the security across the districts.

A total of 1113 people have been arrested in various cases related to violence in the state.
