JNU Protest: Four Metro Stations Gates Shut:- Four metro station gates have been shut down in New Delhi after hundreds of students from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) stepped out to protest. Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk. Lok Kalyan and Central Secretariat station gates remained shut. JNU students started to protest against the hike in the hostel fee. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took twitter to post their decision about the yellow line stations. Delhi Police advised the move after which the gates got closed.

"As advised by Delhi Police, trains are not halting at Udyog Bhawan and Patel Chowk. Exit/Entry Gates for Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat have been closed temporarily... trains are (also) not halting at Lok Kalyan Marg and entry/exit gates of the station have also been closed temporarily," posted the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on their twitter handle. More than 50 students have been detained by the Delhi Police for protesting on the streets.

Hundreds of students marched towards Parliament against the fee hike carrying posters and placards. Hundreds of cops along with the CRPF were deployed in the way to Parliament after which the students failed to reach. The Education Ministry formed a three-member panel to recommend the measures.
