Junior doctors to go on indefinite fast

Junior doctors, attached to all the teaching hospitals of Andhra Medical College, who have been on strike for the last one week demanding regular payment of stipend, decided to boycott emergency duties also from Saturday. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Junior Doctors'' Association on Friday night after it discussed the details of a meeting its office-bearers had with Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju in the evening when the latter asked them to call off their agitation and promised to talk to the Health Minister, Health Secretary, and Finance Secretary. Principal of AMC G. Shanta Rao was also present.
