Responding to the issue of rejecting the permission for indefinite fast of YSRCP Chief Jagan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that, how can I permit someone, who is going to die?
It is known that, YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an indefinite strike against the central government, for the special status. He even participated in one day Deeksha in the past and then itself, he announced the indefinite strike. However, due to Vinayaka Chaturthi festival in between, Jagan postponed his plans, shifting the indefinite fast date to September 26th.
If everything had gone well, Jagan is supposed to start his indefinite fast from tomorrow. But to the shock, the AP police rejected the permission to conduct the strike.
After the permission was rejected, YSCRP leaders busted on the state government saying that, Naidu is trying to play the cheap politics, by not allowing Jagan to go for an indefinite fast.
Responding to the opposition comments, Chandrababu Naidu said, “Indefinite fast is something, where the end point can never be known and might lead to the person’s death. So how can I permit Jagan or someone else to die?”
Indefinite fast redefined in India, particularly Telugu states.
Frankly speaking, it is not new to know about the way, the indefinite fast or strikes are conducted in the country. Though it is announced as fast, who is going to watch them for all the 24 hours, without even blinking the eyes? That just one blink of eye, is enough to change the fast definition.
Adding to this, the officials some or the other way, force the leaders on fast, to take the treatment, by picking them to the hospital, after spreading the news of health condition of the leader. The fact in the entire scene is anyway known to everyone, including the doctors, leaders and fortunately or unfortunately, the public too.
If these many know about the fast logic, how can the most experienced and talented Naidu is not aware of it and thinks that, Jagan may die in the fast?
Naidu strategy in rejecting permission for Jagan indefinite fast
The reason behind Naidu rejecting the permission for Jagan to conduct indefinite fast, might be because of his unwillingness to make Jagan more famous unnecessarily in the sensitive and key issue like Special status. Because it is to be remembered that, how KCR’s indefinite fast, helped to strengthen the Telangana movement in the past.
Moreover, Naidu is well aware that, Jagan would surely target the state government too, along with the Centre, in the indefinite fast. So to avoid such headaches, our beloved CM took this strategical step.
