AP Special status: Jagan’s indefinite fast from today

YSRCP Chief Jagan’s indefinite fast for AP special status is going to launch today in Guntur, without even getting the permission from the government.

Jagan Mohan Reddy tried to conduct the indefinite fast for the special status several times. But it kept on postponing for the reasons like Ganesh festival, Ganesh immersion etc.

At one point of time, when everything was ready, the police denied the permission for Jagan’s indefinite fast and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reacted to this, saying that, he cannot give permission to die. So Jagan and other YSRCP leaders took the issue seriously and said that, no one would stop them from fighting for the special status.

It is with this intention, Jagan decided to conduct the indefinite fast today, against the state and central governments for the special status to Andhra Pradesh, after being permitted by the court.

Firstly, Jagan offered special prayers in Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada and is now heading towards Nallapadu, Guntur, to conduct the indefinite fast.

Speaking about this, YSRCP leaders, Botsa Satyanarayana and Vijayasai Reddy said that, as the state government is not able to pressurize the centre for special status, being a responsible opposition leader, Jagan took up the indefinite fast.”

They said the state government leaders should at least realize now and come forward to fight for the special status.

We have right to get special package too- Botsa

Botsa further said, “The TDP leaders are happy with the special package granted by the Centre, but the thing is special package is anyway needed to be offered to Andhra Pradesh, as it is mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act. But more than special package, it is the special status that acts as a lifeline for developing the state.”

Jagan had no lands in Bhogavaram- Botsa

Along with the special status issue, Botsa even spoke about remarks of Jagan having lands in Bhogavaram area and that is the reason for him to obstruct the land acquisition for the Greenfield Airport there. Botsa condemned these allegations, saying that, they are baseless and asked the TDP leaders to prove them.

As indefinite fast is being against the state government, it is expected to be interrupted by the state police and create some controversy among the duo.
