'Sab Ka Malik Ek' Shirdi opens up to all! October 15, 2012 12:11

Shirdi is a village in Maharashtra in Gopargaon Taluka and Ahmed Nagar district. The village would have remained unknown  like any other village in the rural India. But today, it is the abode to Shirdi Sai Baba Sansathan which houses the divine shrine of the Lord. Baba was once a fakir (a man who had nothing of his own and one who lived on alms, or a saint) roaming in the dusty roads of this same village. On this day way back in 1918 the saint of saints, attained maha samadhi. October 15 in that year was the Vijaya Dasami day and to this day the Navarathir ustsav is celebrated with pomp and grandeur in this holy village.   OM SAI SRI SAIJAYA JAYA SAI Baba, settled in Shirdi and his origin is unknown. The first sightings in the village was when he accompanied the wedding caravan into Shirdi with Chand Patel family. He preferred to stay back and that brought immense repute to this village.  Dasara is celebrated as Puniyathithi in this religious town for which people flock from across the globe. The celebrations shall start on Tuesday, 23 October to 26 October, Friday. There is a programme of puja, music (bhajan) public parayana (reading of scriptures and devotional texts) and exuberant processions with the palanquin and the Rath (cart). The Samadhi Mandir remains open all night during one of these days with Dwarkamai being open the previous night and there are all night bhajan and qawali sessions at various locations in the village. It is a virtual delight to the devotees who turn out in large numbers. The blend of devotees only suggests the fakir's oft repeated statement, 'Sab Ka Malik Ek (God is One).' Sunitha Williams is aboard on the International Space Station (ISS) manned by a team of astronauts led by self in space. However NASA had ensured that she will not miss the goodies and delicacies. The Indo-American astronaut received her parcel of goodies and some crucial equipments delivered by a private spaceflight company Space X. Actually this was a part of a bigger deal entered by the company with NASA and the cost of 12 such deliveries would be US $ 1.6 billion. On Wednesday the unmanned capsule set into orbit by the private company was nearing the ISS when the crew had used its robotic arms to maul the carrier. The Space X cargo ship, called Dragon, eased up to the orbiting lab."Looks like we've tamed the Dragon," reported space station commander Sunita Williams. "We're happy she's on board with us." Awesome Williamas thanked the efforts of the Space X and  NASA for their Courier. She had an exclusive thanks for her favorite  chocolate-vanilla swirl ice cream stashed in a freezer. Sources say that the new version of the Dragon holds 1000 pounds  of groceries, clothes, science experiments and other gear and the hatchet is supposed to open today. The Dragon set of on mission aboard a Falcon 9 rocket Sunday night. In spite of one of its engine failing the back up had clearly dropped it off in orbit as planned. The Dragon will accompany the ISS for another three weeks before embarking on a return journey with more luggage from the ISS. It had been an ideal vehicle courier that fills in the void for a space shuttle for goods, which the NASA was seriously contemplating over some time. Sridevi once again rules the roost: English Vinglish Movie review October 07, 2012 10:55

Well if at all, we have to make a statement about 'English Vinglish,' than it is 'Sridevi once again rules the roost.' The film revolves around a middle age home maker's skills to converse with the English speaking, with what little she knows in the language.  A comedy encounter which has its right mix of melodrama, has won many acclaims from the renowned globally. May be this year the film might be nominated for the Oscars and you never know could win one too for the best film in foreign  languages category. If so the credit goes to Gauri Shinde who has made an author backed role for Sridevi's comeback film. Even with a bright story backed up by powerful narration, with out a versatile celebrity the project would have gone for a toss. That is where Sridevi is pitched in. Even after a hiatus of nearly a decade and a half from the media lights, the actor is her usual self. She is the reigning female superstar, for all times and I hope our Bollywood colleagues do agree on it. As Shashi, the uncomplaining housewife of modern India, Sridevi enacts her portion  with her signature style acting. The star carries the film single handedly and wins everyone's hearts in her relaunch endeavor. Kudos to the entire team for their efforts that vibes well with global audience making the star the most bankable as always. A must see for the entire family and walk out with a broad grin, on your back. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)

The  global release of the multi lingual 'English Vinglish won many hearts in the first two days of its release. The feel good factor of the film is its hilarious entertainment as Sridevi, a middle aged house wife tries to muster English to compete with her cousins settled abroad. The various vagaries faced by the lady form the hilarious part of the film. The film reviews proved the awesome drawing power of the starlet who commanded the national audience with her unique versatility. The result thus proves that Sridevi is one star remembered by everyone from Kashmir to Kanyakumari would not be a slogan to flatter her, but a reality.   Earlier about her re-launch vehicle the Female Superstar said, 'English Vinglish was a right script for me to make a comeback. I loved it when director Gauri Shinde narrated it to me.' The cast includes Adil Hussain, Mehdi Nebbou and Priya Anand.   As Shashi, the uncomplaining housewife of modern India, Sridevi enacts her portion  with her signature style acting. In a few minutes after the film opens up, the actor walks into the hearts of the million people with her histrionics that were missed onscreen for sometime. She was at home, even after the much longer break. After a long time, a film that could be watched with anyone around and a film to give a hearty laugh. Real estate in boom in Hyderabad October 04, 2012 10:24

Hyderabad might be have become a costlier place to live in terms of daily expenditure but that doesn't stop IT companies off shores to set up their giant branches in this Nawabi City. And guess why? There are basically two reasons behind this-the native city Bangalore is much costlier when it comes to hiring an apartment and the second one being Hyderabad offers everything when compared to other cities and the cost of the land in the Hi-tech city and Kondapur areas is much affordable. Everyday is not a Sunday, goes a pro-verb. This is, in fact, very true. Going by the 'law of the demand' formula of economics, the property market prices are all set to escalate at least by 40 per cent in many areas of Hyderabad including Gachibowli (where Hi-tech city exists) and Begumpet (where the old airport exists besides many industries). Now that the buzz is spreading viral in the market that there would steep increase in the real estate market in Hyderabad, the attention of the realtors turned towards Hyderabad yet another time. If we take a close look as to why there would be increase in real estate prices, many IT experts opined that Hyderabad is a better place to live compared to other IT cities in the country. In terms of security to women, Hyderabad is way ahead, they added. Also, they said that the offices in Hyderabad are close by to the residential areas, which will not be a problem to the IT employees, who would apparently search for apartments near the office itself. Further, some companies are rapidly expanding their office space. A close look at the Hi-tech city will make people understand as to how some companies are building multiple offices to accommodate their employees. Above all, the hospitality in Hyderabad is something mentioned by scores of people. Therefore, when given an option to choose between different IT cities in the country for an employment, many youths preferred Hyderabad.    If in future Hyderabad becomes much more costlier city than Bangalore in terms of property and office space, then there's no answer to the question as to what would be the next option to IT companies. As of now, Hyderabad is the most happening city in terms of not just tourism but even the IT sector. (AW Phani)

Gandhi Jayanti celebrated with fervor October 03, 2012 10:58

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated across the nation in schools, government offices and especially in prisons. Most politicians were engrossed in the usual morning drills at these venues. This was the day when the father of the nation was born in 1869 in Porbander. The non-violent preacher for the first time in the world history demonstrated the power of the ultimate weapon 'Non Violence.' However the irony was that, on Jan 30 in 1948 he was assassinated at the Birla House while on his way to evening prayers.   Well it is on this day the schools remind the students that truth, is the ultimate winner. And by adhering to non-violence one can achieve the best results. But how far has Gandhism affected us, let's take a closer look. Even though we know the fact that our ancestors had spent sleepless nights fighting the British, we still resort to hoarding of all kinds, depriving others of their rightful share. This has become a regular habit, on the larger scale the scams stand as testimony to our mammoth desires. While at the lower levels we try to bribe to get our work done faster, influence people for benefits, try to shadow others progress, garner maximum attention to be in favor, OMG the list is endless and equally embarrassing too. Are we adhering to what our Bapu has taught all his life is one valid question that everyone has to pose to self. Hope at least this year we are able to weed away what is haunting us and pave way for a healthy future for the gen next. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)

T March: Government was forced to act accordingly October 01, 2012 12:58

The hottest topic on the agenda in the city is that will the offices and establishments open for the day. It may be noted that late last night The Telangana Students Forum and the OU Student Joint Action Committee's have jointly called for a bandh today. In fact on Sunday the assurances given before the protests to get permission from the government were totally violated during the actual action which resulted in a chaotic situation, say sources. The government security forces were forced to open teargas as a part of their duties. The TJAC Supremo Prof Kodandaram called for 'Sagara Haram' (garland around Hussainsagar) protest to enlighten the imminent need for a separate Telangana state carved out of the unified Andhra Pradesh state. And on Sunday they were granted permission by the state government after much reluctance and many assurances from the organizers for a peaceful event. The actual protest was to be held around the Hussain Sagar in the evening and activists turned up in thousands to the proposed venue. With just tens of thousands of security personnel and many multiples of activists the situation was just like a bubble ready to burst. Government was sensing such situation right from the beginning and hence delayed the permission. This was not because that the government was incapacitated or some thing else, but due to the International Bio-Diversity Summit commencing from Monday.  The entire city was decked up to give a rosy picture to the 8000 + global visitors coming from 193 countries and the Tank Bund was a prime attraction that the city could proudly boast of. But the agitations at the very same venue troubled the government foreseeing a spill over to Monday and that is precisely what has happened now. As a country the government felt that all should bury their differences when a global event was planned and put up a good show. On the other hand the activists felt that this was the weakest moment for the government and they forgot to be a part of the nation largely, but narrowed themselves to the state, say Congress sources. Is that not bad on itself, they questioned. Well the agitators had no answers to this, in spite of the proposed summit underway and the tank bund ruined there was a call for a bandh today. The Telangana Students Forum and the OU Student Joint Action Committee's have jointly called for a bandh on Monday. Going by the events the whole agitation looks quite opportunistic and the moment chosen seems to be much to like the Shakespeare tale (Merchants of Venice), which asks for its share of the 'pound of flesh,' as expressed by many from the city's elite. Another significant issue that troubled the citizens was the call given by the Student JAC that the ministers from the region must submit their resignation by noon on Monday. There is nothing to feel remorse over the call but along with this they also hinted their action on Seemandhra commercial establishments. In what way this was correct felt the people from the other side. They were perplexed that, is the T issue alienating the state from the nation at large.......(With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)

Rebel movie review: Mass Entertainer September 29, 2012 11:31

Well the weekend has already come in and we are all feeling fatigue over the hectic parleys of the concrete jungles, experienced last week. Meeting deadlines, targets, excuses and what not, leaving all this behind what we need is to unwind immediately. For those party animals Saturday night fever is sure to shoot up. But for all those who would like to have a quality night with your better half, I think you should be with your partner at one of the multiplexes of the city. Watch out your choicest film at a close cinema and I am here to give you details of what is what and the leave the choice to your sole discretion. The last week we had a movie from each tinsel world that had something special to be mentioned. Rebel Movie Review: Prabhas - Lawrence combo Rebel (Telugu) is a mass entertainer. The story revolves around a high class youth who is affected by the sudden turn of events  and becomes a Don. This Don is out to avenge the detractors of his Father and is on the look out for missing ends. Tamanna shares the screen space with the hero and she is extremely glamorous, fit to give your partner 'J.' So stayaway from looking at Tamanna, while she (your spouse) is watching you (Chuckles!). Then we have Deeksha Seth with her usual glamor shows and veteran Krishnam Raju steals the show with his stellar performance. Songs are really good and the director debuts in this area with this film. Rebel is a thorough mass entertainer. Thandavam Movie Review: Another sensation from the stable of Vikram - A L Vijay combo is Thandavam (Tamil). This film is inspiring and Vikram is awesome, well aided by the versatile veteran Jagapathi Babu. Anushka is glamorous while is no competition to Amy Jackson. This film revolves around the hurdles faced by a sincere officer out on a mission against the militants who had stolen the defense secrets of the nation. Vikram excels in his dual roles, in addition to the RAW officer, he portrays a blind character of an Echolocation expert. A treat to his fans and to general film goers too. Music by G V Prakash steals the show. Thandavam is an action entertainer. Oh My God movie review: In spite of wide criticism over hurting of religious sentiments,  OMG (Hindi) is a class apart film in which Paresh Rawal as the atheist excels, while Akshay Kumar as the GOD tags along in the well scripted story. The ingredients are well blend to give adequate wit and humour while delivering a subtle message. It only signifies that normally God is thought, out of fear or desire, but if you treat him as a friend he is there by your side always, come what may. And if one looks for the divine personality he is present in everyone among us. OMG is not preachy, but  the message is subtle, while humor and real life incidents are blended evenly to make it a successful socio-fantasy film. So happy weekends, take time to bond with your loved ones while rewinding after the hectic week that just passed out. This is also your best time to get recharged for the hectic week ahead too.
