Hyderabad Blasts: IM had non-local bomb planters March 04, 2013 17:47

It is known that the two most active Indian Mujahideen terrorists Syed Maqbool and Imran Khan have explored more than 12 regions for planting the bomb in Hyderabad. The information was reported by the National Investigation Agency which now holds these terrorists in their custody. In more information they found out, they have learned that the IM terrorists employed non locals to plant the bombs in Dilsukhnagar, though they might have been provided shelter and logistic information by some anti-social elements in Saidabad. IM activities earlier in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune among other places have used terrorists from different places and no local hands. Even in the 2008 event, these foot soldiers for the terrorists outfit have come from outside. It is hence suspected that this would have been the case for the latest operation too. From investigation, the NIA sleuths have found strong links between the IM activists Imran Maqbool and the Lashkar-e-Toiba activist Obaid-ur-Rehman who lived in Saidabad. These IM terrorists were helped with motorcycles to go around Hyderabad and recce different locations in the city for the bomb blasts in July 2012. With several events unraveling in the case of the Hyderabad Blasts, the investigation agency is making progress but currently not enough to find the complete picture. (AW- Anil)

State Congress reels under pressure over railway budget! March 01, 2013 14:57

With railway budget coming as a major shock to many leaders in the city-given the high expectations they were having as MoS for railways hailing from AP-PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana is now swinging into action for appeasing leaders in the state. After a team of Congress leaders met PCC chief on Friday noon, Botsa Satyanaraya held a press conference here in Hyderabad. Although it was reported that the discussion revolved around MLC seat, it was apparently true that the leaders discussed the railway budget with special reference to Andhra Pradesh. PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana has presumably said that the railway budget didn't meet the expectations. He has even said that he would use his influence and good will to ensure that the state is given due importance. Commenting on electricity cuts, Mr Botsa said efforts were on to minimize the power cuts in the state. Notably, Congress has been reeling under pressure from not just opposition parties but even observers and common people over railway budget with allegations that the state has been cornered in the railway budget. On contrary, ex railway employees termed this year's railway budget as a national budget unlike other budgets wherein the ministers then focussed more on the state they hailed from. All in all, good part of the budget is that it emphasizes on women safety on trains, which is actually the need of the hour. (AW Phani)

The Center is already expectant that the case would be handed over to the NIA soon. It is likely that Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister of AP and the home minister Sabita Indra Reddy meet up with DGP V Dinesh Reddy before they hand over the case. As of now, though the police have been investigating in several areas of the case with little progress. Hyderabad bomb blasts:CCTV footage shows 5 persons on cycles February 23, 2013 11:00

The CCTV footage in Dilsukhnagar area, where the twin bomb blasts took place two days back, has now become a key to the investigation team to crack the case. The sources said that the CCTV camera showed that five persons were moving in that area on bicycles. The police reportedly are thinking that they could be the culprits responsible for the attack. Sources even said that the actual hit list of terrorists was Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Dilsukhnagar area. Since city police commissioner, Anurag Sharma visited the temple on Thursday, ten minutes before the bomb exploded, the culprits probably couldn't get through the tight security at the temple. Therefore, they could have left their bicycles outside Konark and Venkatadri theatres. As many as 16 innocent people, who were on Dilsukhnagar road, have lost their lives due to these culprits. Over 100 are injured. The condition of many persons was said to be critical. Andhra Wishesh pays tributes to those who lost their lives in the bomb blasts. (AW Phani)

The link between Bangalore and Hyderabad blasts February 23, 2013 10:37

Probes into the Hyderabad blasts on Thursday evening have revealed potential information and one of the ramifications of the blast have confirmed a common link with the Bangalore blast in 2008. The prime accused in the 2008 blast is related to the prime suspect in the blasts from a couple of days back in Hyderabad. Abu Ustad, considered to be the prime suspect in the Hyderabad case is known to be related to Abdul Nasser Madani, one main accused in Bangalore. Abu Ustad is the head of 'Noorisha Tarikhat' madrasa in Hyderabad where he is responsible for recruiting young criminals into his unit for jihad. Bangalore blast accused were also trained and belonged to the Noorisha Tarikhat madrasa. They are now in the Parappana Agrahara central prison. Sainuddin and his son Shafaruddin, arrested for their involvement with the Bangalore blasts are also Ustad's in-laws. Ustad and Madani's close friendship has been evident in the investigations prima facie. Prima facie investigations revealed that Ustad and Madani are close friends and Ustad had often arranged Madani's speech in his madrasa. Sources from the intelligence added, "Abu's family knew about the Bangalore blasts and its perpetrators. So we shall question them on the Hyderabad twin blasts". Bangalore Police reached Hyderabad to assist the police with their extensive knowledge on the modus operandi of the Bhaktals. They speculated that there could have been newer technology used with the Hyderabad blasts. (AW- Anil)

Hyderabad bomb blasts send shock waves among people February 22, 2013 14:57

The union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has today visited the unfortunate place where series of bomb blasts took place in Hyderabad. Dilsukhnagar area, which is supposedly one of the busiest places in the city was not the first time that reportedly entered the target list of terrorists. In fact, a couple of years a bomb was noticed and defused near foot over bridge of Dilsukhnagar. Even after that incident, it was really unfortunate, as per the observers and common people, that proper steps were not taken to prevent such incidents.   Sushil Kumar Shinde last night mentioned to the media that the union home ministry alerted the state governments about the terrorist activities. Nonetheless, he said that there was no specific alert on Hyderabad. Even after alerting, what Kiran sarkar has done? What steps did it take to ensure public safety, are the questions that are being widely discussed across the city irrespective of age groups.   Even TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, who visited Dilsukhnagar area this morning, has enquired about the incident. He said these bomb blasts are result of negligence of government. Governor ESL Narasimhan, chief minister Kiran Kumar, home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and other ministers too visited the place.   The kin and kith of the deceased are going to get Rs. 7 lakh exgratia from Andhra Pradesh Government and Rs. 2 lakh exgratia from the prime minister, said Sushil Kumar Shinde.   What happened last night? At around 7 pm on Thursday night, Dilsukhnagar area was as usual bustling with people. Suddenly, a major explosion took place outside Konark theatre. Within a few seconds another blast took place at Venkatadri theatre. In all, as per various media reports, over a dozen people lost their lives while hundreds of persons got injured out of which ten persons' condition was said to be critical. The injured persons were shifted to nearby hospitals.   Voxpop: “I was in the city bus. Completed my duty and boarded the bus in Koti. As the bus reached Dilsukhnagar, there was horrible sound that made me think that I lost my ears. After about 10 to 15 seconds, another sound I heard. The bus shook. Then we noticed that bomb blasts occurred. This is unfortunate.”   All in all, it's really unfortunate to note this incident. Andhra Wishesh is deeply saddened by the serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad. It is the time for all of us to (especially the political parties) to put aside the agendas and condemn the terrorism instead of playing blame game. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace!   (AW Phani)

Junior doctors in Hyderabad are staging protests yet another time at Gandhi hospital in Hyderabad. In their complaint to the director of the medical education, the doctors have brought to the notice about the alleged business of the senior doctor with dead bodies. In fact, junior doctors even turned into citizen journalists, reportedly conducted a sting operation and even released that clipping to establish their allegation. It was reported that the director of the medical education took the complaint. However, why junior doctors are staging protest has become a topic of discussion. Will it be justifiable if junior doctors ignore the patients and fight for the corpses or action against the person selling of corpses? A million dollar question! (AW Phani)
