IAS couple's son ranks in top 10 in UPSC exams from state

Undeterred by his earlier attempt result, the Civil Services candidate from the city persuaded his dream again and this time hit the bulls-eye.  Krishna Bhaskar bagged the 90 rank and secured the Indian Police Service (IPS) in his earlier attempt and is right now a trainee IPS Officer at the Sardar Vallbhbhai Patel National Police Academy. However he reached the target this time, by securing the ninth rank in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination 2011. Bhaskar ever dreamt of being an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer owing to his background and achieved the same with his perseverance. Bhaskar is the son of IAS officers V Bhaskar (principal secretary, finance) and Lakshmi Parthasarathi (principal secretary, transport). The giant leap from 90 to 9 was phenomenal and is a trend setter for his the next in line, feel experts.

Unlike last time this time the state was dominated from male rank holders and there were fewer women in the race. About fifty candidates made it this year and the prominent were A Mallikarjuna (rank 20), M Pavan Kumar (53) and Nikhil Pavan Kalyan (60). The lone successful girl from the state was N Swetha (163).

Incidentally Bhaskar family had double delight this year, his younger brother Parthasarathi Bhaskar, an engineering graduate from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) and MBA from Delhi University, secured 383 rank in the civil services exam and has qualified for the revenue services.    (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
