Cyclone Fani Makes a Landfall:- Cyclone Fani is said to be a severe cyclone that surrounded the coastal regions of West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. As predicted, Cyclone Fani made a landfall today at 8 AM at the coast of Puri, Odisha. Massive rainfall is expected in these states in the next one day. Over 11 lakh people residing in the coastal regions from 15 districts have been evacuated by the Odisha Government. A woman died while she was shifted to a shelter in Debendranarayanpur, a seaside village in Kendrapara district in Odisha. Several roadside trees got uprooted and several roads have been blocked.

The cyclone will move to north eastwards and will turn severe in the next six hours. Indian Meteorological Department had revised its prediction and lowered the intensity of gale speed and rainfall. Control rooms have been set up across Andhra Pradesh. Several trains running across South Eastern Railway have been canceled for the next two days. Vizianagaram district witnessed significant rainfall early today.
