Vijayawada Named As The Cleanest City In The Country:- It is sure a proud moment for the citizens of Vijayawada as it has been named as the cleanest city of the country which are having more than a million population as per the Swachh Survekshan-2018 survey conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Housing announced the survey results at a program in New Delhi yesterday.

A grand award ceremony will be held in New Delhi and the survey has been conducted across 4200 cities that covered a population of 40 crores. A team has been formed from Quality Council of India (QCI) which visited the assigned city and they have been impressed with the various activities initiated by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The team also took a thorough feedback from the people after they visited residential areas along with commercial spaces.
