TS Minister Harish Rao Responds To Ban On Kancha Ilaiah’s Book Demand:- Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao responded to a petition made by representatives from the Vysya community, who demanded a ban on the book ‘Komoatollu Samajika Smugglarlu’ (Komatis are social smugglers), authored by Prof Kancha Ilaiah.

Mr. Ilaiah launched the book during an awareness meeting organized by Farmers Coordination Committees in Sangareddy. The Minister condemned the author for terming the entire Komati people as smugglers. He further said that any organization or people who judge or label an entire community of people based on the behavior of some would not be entertained by the Telangana government.

Harish Rao became the first person from the government to respond on this issue, which has sparked widespread protests across Telangana. Rao said that in every community there are good and bad people and further stated that the government would not tolerate any people attempts to disturb social harmony in the State.

“People practicing various faiths and belonging to various castes have been happily living together in Telangana for long,” he said.

Mr. Rao assuring the Vysya people of taking the issue and their demand of banning the book to the notice of the Chief Minister said that the government would take an appropriate decision soon. He was thanked by the Vysya people for a prompt response and raised slogans against Prof. Kancha Ilaiah.
