TS CM Launches “KCR Kits Scheme”:- Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, to promote institutional deliveries in government hospitals, has launched “KTR Kits Scheme” at the Government Maternity Hospital-Petlaburj in the city on Saturday.

The scheme was simultaneously launched across the state. The scheme focuses on welfare of pregnant women and newborns by providing financial assistance and under the scheme, around 2.70 lakh pregnant women are expected to get benefited.

Pregnant women will be given a financial assistance of Rs 14,000 in four phases. An additional Rs 1,000 will be given in case of delivery of a baby girl, under this scheme.

The funds would be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in four installments. Further, a kit comprising soaps for mother and child, baby oil, a cradle, a mosquito net, dresses, sarees, a handbag, towels, napkins, powder, diapers, shampoo and toys for the child is given to them worth Rs 2000.

Aimed at reducing infant mortality rate and encourage institutional deliveries in government hospitals, the scheme would be applicable for two deliveries.

Additionally, KCR also launched a website of KCR Kit. This kit will enable both the officials and also the beneficiaries for live monitoring of the number of deliveries in the government hospitals as well as status of the beneficiaries and the financial assistance released for them.

The TS CM also interacted with the hospital staff and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients. The Aadhaar card data of about 4.70 lakh existing beneficiaries have been collected by the health authorities, for implementation of the scheme. The field level health workers will monitor the health progress of the mother.

To the doorstep of pregnant women, the auxiliary nurse midwifery (ANMs) would make a visit, and computerize their details. In addition, they will also be issued a mother-child welfare card and suggestions would be made which hospital would be better for delivery, based on the woman’s condition, said Health Minister C Laxma Reddy.

Moreover, the first instalment of 3,000 would be transferred after a pregnant woman undergoes two health check-ups so that she can buy nutritious food, said Mr. Reddy.

The Ministers who were present at the launch were the Union Minister of state for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Charminar MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, MLC K Janardhan Reddy, GHMC Mayor B. Rammohan, Chief Secretary SP Singh, Special Chief Secretary for Health Rajeshwar Tiwari, Commissioner of Health Vakati Karuna.
