CM KCR Called for a Meeting by Central Govt: Rajnath Singh

Soon after India's surgical strikes on several of Pakistan's terror pads on the Line of Control and killing two Pak soldiers last night, the entire country is on a high alert.

Even though the Indian armed forces ruled out a war, the centre is on its toes and is pulling all its strengths in case Pak retaliates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has briefed the President, former PM Manmohan Singh and other cabinet ministers about the situation at the LoC and discussed about the consequences.

Meanwhile, the union home minister Rajnath Singh had telephoned chief ministers of all the bordering states and specially called Telangana chief minister KCR and invited him for a high-level meeting in New Delhi.

Hyderabad being a shelter to one of the major bases for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, the centre has alerted KCR and sought his help in coordinating with them in case of a retaliation.

Even though the Army and Air Force wings in Hyderabad are independent, KCR being the Chief Minister, the centre wanted him to be aware of the sensitive situation that are prevailing at the moment.
