Geetha’s DNA, not matched with Ludhiana family

The DNA report proved that, Geetha is not Ludhiana family’s daughter, as the girl’s DNA results did not match with the family.

Geetha, a 23 year old Indian girl, has lost her home, at the age of 8 years, and living in Pakistan since then. Geetha’s issue had gone viral and came into the media, after Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan has dealt with the concept, similar to Geetha’s personal life story.

Many biggies from India, had given the required support and assured to find her parents, as per her wish. After a vigorous search, Geetha had identified an Indian family, which appeared similar to her parents.

But after the DNA test was conducted, it is now out that, Geetha is not related to the Indian family, identified in the picture.

After DNA report, Janardan Mahto along with his wife Shanti Devi, residents of Ramesh Nagar, Tibba road, Ludhiana, Punjab, urged the Central government to find their daughter Heera Mani, who had gone missing in 2005. They even said that, they would pray for Geeta, to find her parents soon.

Vinod, who claimed to be Geetha’s brother, said officials in the foreign ministry had informed them on the phone about the DNA report, which had been dispatched to their address.

Vinod said that, Geeta, resembled his sister Heera. She had initially identified the photos of Mahto’s family, sent to her in Pakistan, as those of her own family members, but denied the same, after arriving India.

On the other side, Momin Malik, Panipat-based advocate, the man behind bringing Geeta from Pakistan, said he would contact the police chiefs of various states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, and ask them to gather the data of deaf-mute girls, who had gone missing 10 to 12 years ago.

He further added that the government should provide the financial help to Geeta, to start a fresh life in India.

Responding to it, minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj said, Geetha will continue to be in India, with all the required facilities, till she finds her parents in the country.
