A location assured for Telangana Secretariat

Telangana  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is making all special arrangements to relocate the Secretariat of Telangana. For this, it is heard that he is considering Bison polo ground at Bolarum.

On Thursday, KCR participated in a meeting with Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar in New Delhi. KCR assured the former, that an alternative site would be compensated out of the land bank of the government.

Originally these locations are considered:

Actually, the TRS government original plan was to shift the secretariat office to the 70-acre Chest Hospital in Erragadda. But later the idea was dropped, as the officials felt that the hospital is located in the prohibited zone of the Begumpet airport for high-rise constructions. Also, the hospital has heritage buildings. It later considered Gymkhana grounds for the Secretariat, but even that idea was dropped due to unknown reasons.

Clearances by defense:

On the other side, the Union Minister, TRS leader in Lok Sabha A.P. Jitender Reddy asked KCR to get the lands examined by defense officials. Telangana CM further requested Mr. Reddy to assure the clearance from defense to dig lands in Cantonment for laying pipelines to bring Godavari water from Ellampalli reservoirs in Karimnagar. He sought permission to take up road widening in defense area along the highway to Karimnagar.

Mr. Parrikar approved all those requests of CM and he further sanctioned Sainik Schools at Warangal and Mahabubnagar.

Meeting with Union Home Minister

After all these commitments, KCR assembled for a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the present state of left wing extremism in Telangana. Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma accompanied him to the meeting.
