Rajya Sabha adjourned, No T-Bill today

Rajya Sabha has been adjourned to tomorrow without the introduction of Telangana Bill. Central government planned to table Telangana Bill in the Upper House but as many other bills were in pending, it couldn't happen. Also the Seemandhra MPs obstructed the house proceedings and this lead to war of words between parties. Congress Minister Rajiv Shukla requested the members to get back to their seats and participate in the debate but his attempts went for of no use.

Meanwhile in Parliament lobby BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Kamal Nath, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Jairam Ramesh were also present and have demanded for four important amendments in the T-Bill. Sources say that PM has accepted for special package and announcement of it is awaited.

On the Hyderabad Law and Order also BJP raised objections. It opined that giving Governor powers for Law and Order requires amendment in Constitution, so BJP has asked for change in this clause. The Central Government is also worried, if the amendments suggested by BJP are made then the Telangana bill needs Lok Sabha acceptance one more time and this would bring more troubles. So Manmohan is in dilemma over the amendments asked by BJP. The union cabinet will be meeting tomorrow morning on this issue and Manmohan might also discuss the same with Congress Working Committee.
