Kiran Kumar Completes 3 Years As CM

Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy who assumed office as 16th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 25th November 2010 completes three years (successfully?).

Right from the day one of assuming office till date he has been facing all types of pressures from all the sources that can be imagined.  Out of all problems major problem he has been facing is from Telangana issue.

Although he introduced many Government schemes and held Rachabanda programs, he could not get popularity like YS Rajasekhara Reddy who always looked cheerful.  In many instances he felt all alone in fighting with the political challenges as he was opposed not only by the opposition parties but also from the party within.  He is being criticized by the Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha also who belongs to and supports Telangana.

In spite of the above, he could pass through the no-confidence motion on two occasions in his 3 years tenure.

Amma Hastam, Bangaru Thalli and SC ST Sub Plans are his best achievements.  Indiramma Bata, Rajiva Yuva Kiranalu and Revival of Rachabanda are his other popular programs.

Kiran Kumar Reddy is the first Chief Minister of Congress party to voice against the decision of the party high command.  He was praised by the Seemandhra people and criticized by the Telangana leaders for his openly talking against bifurcation

We cannot say what happens in politics.  But critics say that he will be the last Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh if the Telangana State is formed carving out from Andhra Pradesh, as the Center is keen and has been going about the process at a fast pace.
