Phailin going to get weak by midnight

The Phailin Cyclone that is named after the Thai's Sapphire, is expected to get weakened by midnight.  As per the calculations based on the movement and intensity, the cyclone will lose its strength by 11.30 pm today.  But between 11.30 am and 5.30 today the cyclone is going cause a wind blow at the speed of 220 to 240 kilometers per hour.

Now the cyclone reached at 200 kilometers from Kalingapatnam.  Director General of IMD Rahod said that the tides in the sea may go up to the height of 3.5 meters.  Now heavy rains are drenching Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Ganjam districts.  After the cyclone crosses the shore a rain fall of 20 to 25 cms can be expected in 24 hours.  It is also estimated that the sea waters may come forward up to 300 meters at Gopalpur seashore.  The sea already came up to 150 meters at Manchineellapeta in Srikakulam District.

The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had conference with the Collectors of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari to review the situation due to cyclone in those districts.  He asked them to report every hour to the Principal Secretary.
