Leaders Elected To Run State Not to Divide

The Samaikyandhra Parirakshna Vedika and APNGO Association President Ashok Babu said in the "Save Andhra Pradesh" public meeting at LB Stadium the political leaders are elected by the people to run the State but not to divide it.

First of all he expressed his happiness for the gathering of so many people in spite of scorching sun outside and hunger inside.  He said that as the referendum mechanism is absent in our country we only have to vote and elect because of which a public meeting is held only to make the protests reach the elected leaders.   He also said that if the debate comes to the Assembly and if the decision is taken there the people could have accepted it.   But the decision of bifurcation is taken for political gain.   Imposing that type of resolution on the public is not acceptable.

Ashok Babu said that because of the bifurcation NGOs, Students and RTC employees get affected.   He said that everyone knows that salaries will not be paid and it will be hardship for the employees who cannot bear even one day delayed payments in ordinary course.

Ashok Babu said that he is not interested in politics but many have been speculating that way about him.  He said that the employees can make the decisions of the political leaders change and that is power of employees working for the State.

Ashok Babu cleared that it is not the problem of employees alone and the protests of the employees are only to give moral support people of other walks of life.  He said that the meeting is only intended to make it as referendum for the samaikya supporters in Seemandhra and also Telangana regions, Center and also Private sector employees.

Lastly Ashok Babu said that the meeting is only the beginning and there will be a million march program in parade grounds if the political leaders do not make efforts to roll back the congress decision to bifurcate the State.  He also said that it is not a threat but an attempt to give an indication the extent the movement can go.
