Here is a mobile application that can diagnose dengue!

In what can be dubbed as a technological feat in healthcare, an NRI doctor has developed a new mobile application for Android that can help detect dengue. The smartphone app not only offers an exhaustive guide on the signs and symptoms, possible causes and treatment of the disease, but also helps map it.

Developed by Dr Saji Salam, an American doctor of Indian origin, the app has been developed mainly for the USA and other global markets. It has based on the guidelines offered by Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in the US and the World Health Organization.

Talking about his breakthrough invention, the 40-year-old doctor said, "Dengue has affected not just India, but is spreading across the world. Spain, Portugal and Philippines are affected in a big way by the disease. It is in this context that this kind of application is necessary."

To get started with, firstly download the dengue app on your Android smartphone. Next, feed your current body temperature using its fever meter. Based on the severity of your fever, the app will guide you to go for a physician consultation and blood sample test.
