The call for 'Telangana march' on September 30 by Professor M. Kodandaram, led Joint action committee (JAC) has evoked mixed response from many political parties of the erstwhile Telangana region. However addressing a meeting today at Mabubnagar, the leader announced that the JAC would organize a Telangana Prachara Yatra. In this tour they would create awareness over the need for the formation of the state. This would be the primary step to strengthen the participation in large numbers for the proposed march.
The leader ascertained that each party was adhering to its own plan to achieve the objective and the JAC proposes the T march. He also said that only a handful of leaders from the Seemandhra were trying to stop the process but noted that people felt that it was a welcome move.
He also said that during the campaign there would be meetings, discussions and interaction with public for consensus on the issue.
The ‘Telangana march’ is faced with a similar situation as the Ganesh immersion is scheduled on September 29 and the UN conference on biodiversity on October 1. The march is precariously sandwiched between two major events.
Meanwhile strong party in the region Telangana Rashtra Samithi is silent over the issue. And its Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is right now in Delhi and is expected to arrive the mid of this month. As an MP of the state he is out there to attend parliament. But however sources say that there could be chances for him to persuade the T issue with the high command.
