Stage set for Lal Darwaza Bonalu

Lal Darwaza Bonalu in old-city, which hold mirror upto Telangana culture, will be celebrated on Sunday with much pomp and geity. The stage has been set for the festival wherein scores of women offer bonam (prasad) to Goddess Shakti (Mahankali). Starting from Sunday, Simhavahini Mahankali festivities would take place for two days. Totally 11 main temples in the old city have been beautifully decorated for the festival. The temple authorities have stated that all arrangements have been made to ensure that devotees don't face any inconvenience.

Meanwhile, police beefed up the old city area and took it under their control in order to avoid untoward incidents in the wake of Lal Darwaza Bonalu festival.  The bonalu festival at Lal Darwaza  will be 104th festival. The RTC is running several buses from various parts of the city to Lal Darwaza in the wake of the festival.
