The Tirupati forest department was off late have noted numerous cases of red sanders smuggling and hoarding. As the officials have intensified their combing down operations seized rare logs of red sanders which might be worth Rs 1 Cr. The sleuths were on a regular patrol and at the Thanepalli intercepted two vans. These vans were smuggling 5.3 tons of the red sanders. One person has been arrested.
