Ambati Vijaya Rao takes on Cong for not giving her ticket

The moment Congress candidate announced the list of 15 candidates along with their constituencies for by-polls, the party has been facing ire from different leaders who were not give tickets. One of them is Ambati Vijaya Rao who expected a seat for Payakaraopeta. She took on the candidate selected to contest in this constituency, G Sumana.  Ambati Vijaya Rao is now staging protest at the party office, Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

It has to be mentioned her that Ambati Vijaya Rao was given a ticket for the same constituency in 2004 but she was defeated and eventually she was not given a ticket in 2009 general elections. And after that, the current by-polls gave a pinch of hope to Ambati and on party deciding G Sumana as the candidate, the disappointed Congress leaders expressed her grief. Meanwhile, she earlier said that it was okay even if ticket was not given to her but she insisted the party not to select G Sumana. PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana has said that candidates were selected based on their track record.

Congress has no ethics:

Ambati Vijaya Rao has said that the Congress party has no ethics at all. She said that she has been working for the party like hell and her efforts went unnoticed. Also, she mentioned that she didn’t even entertain the invitations from other parties to join them.

It may be recalled that after two days of discussions with chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana, the Congress released the list of 15 candidates.
