Agricultural labourers found an old wooden box containing seven kg of gold during their working hours in a field at Hanumanthuni Gudem in Nuziveedu Mandalam of Krishna district today.
The labourers found the gold when they were digging the land for a bore well, according to reports. The finding was leaked to the media only after the workers fought among themselves over distribution of the gold resulting in serious injuries to some of them.
The police also came to know of the discovery of the booty and rushed to the spot. The injured were rushed to a nearby Government hospital. Police said they have registered a case against the workers. (J)
