Independent candidate kidnapped in Nagar Kurnool

Unidentified persons today kidnapped independent candidate Yeddula Janardhan Reddy contesting the Nagarkurnool assembly by poll.

Reports said four persons accosted him and kidnapped him while he was going to the office of the Returning Officer for withdrawing his nomination in Nagar Kurnool.

The followers of Telangana Nagara Samithi leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy alleged the independent candidate was kidnapped by the congress workers. They said four persons, suspected to be congress activists, came by a car and talked to the candidate when he was going to the RDO office. “After that, he simply disappeared,” they alleged.

While TRS decided not to put up candidate and announced support to Nagam Janardhan reddy in the constituency, Marri Janardhan Reddy is contesting as TDP candidate. The congress has fielded Mr Damodar Reddy. (J)
