FIFA second leg Satyagraha march

The Federation of Independent Farmers' Associations (FIFA) backed by the Lok Satta Party is launching a satyagraha yatra at Nizamabad. The protest is against the government proposal for curbing the farmer’s rights, to sell paddy and rice outside the state. The protest shall be launched today in Pocharam village in the district at 10 am. The Lok Satta Party President and the FIFA President, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan shall lead the two day protest. The march that commences today shall end at Nanded village in Maharashtra, tomorrow.  Earlier a similar protest was held on Feb 19 and paddy was taken across the Andhra Pradesh border to Karnataka.

The protesting farmers will march to Bodhan for the night after touching Nagireddipet, Ellareddy, Banswada, Varni and Rudrur en route. Tomorrow, the march will resume from Bodhan at 9-00 a.m. and pass through Kotagiri, Yettonda, Pentakurru, Salampadu and Salur, and cross the border check-post at Salur. They will undertake sale of paddy at Esgi in Nanded district of Maharashtra around 1-30 p.m. on February 26.
