CS snubs IAS officers, asks them not to worry

AP Chief Secretary Mr Pankaj Dwivedi said it is not advisable on part of the IAS officers in the state to allege harassment by the CBI.

“If you have not made a mistake, why do you worry unnecessarily,” he told journalists in AP Bhavan in Delhi today when asked to comment on the IAS officers’ complaint to the CM Kirankumar reddy on the attitude of the CBI. Mr Dwivedi was in Delhi to attend the conference of the Chief Secretaries of various states.

He said there are several business rules and regulations guiding the working of IAS officers and the officers working as per the given rules need not worry about anything. “I don’t think CBI will harass any IAS officer in the process of investigation,” Dwivedi observed, adding, the image of the AP state wouldn’t be affected adversely just because of two IAS officers were sent to jail.

Observing that the AP IAS cadre is known for its sincerity and devotion towards service, Pankaj Dwivedi said the administrative image of the state is not affected in any way.

Calling upon the IAS officers in the state not to undergo any mental agony, the Chief Secretary asked them to keep confidence in the judiciary. “Just because an officer’s name is included in the charge sheet, nothing will happen. The courts will order prosecution of any person  only if there is sufficient proof ,” he said when journalists referred to the inclusion of  TTD EO’s name Mr LV Subramanyam in the Emaar charge sheet.

IAS Officers to meet again

Aggrieved by the comments of Pankaj Dwivedi, the IAS officers have decided to meet again this evening to discuss their future course of action. (JUBS)
