CBI sleuths grilled home minister Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy for two hours last night in Hyderabad in connection with the illegal mining case registered against mining mafia don Mr Gali Janardhan reddy.
CBI officials questioned her at a farm house in Moinabad and extracted information on granting leases for the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) during her tenure as the mining and geology minister under the YSR regime.
It is learnt that she granted 6 mining leases to OMC owned by Gali brothers in a single day when she was the mining minister. Reports said they also questioned her on two files relating to the mining leases issued in 2004.
Ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Satrucharla Vijayarama raju are the likely ones to be questioned next by the investigating agency. Opposition leaders who visited the Obulapuram mining area three years ago alleging illegalities in the mining are also likely to be questioned.
