Emaar Villa owners attend CBI questioning

EmaarSeveral prominent personalities, who purchased costly villas at cheaper rates in the Emaar Properties robbing the state exchequer of its revenues worth hundreds of crores of rupees, today began attending the CBI questioning in the APIIC-Emaar land allotment scandal.

The representatives of Bharati Infra, Lotus Pharma, Surya Paper, Imperial Constructions, Jonnalagadda Venkateswar, Srinivasarao and Usha Rani attended the CBI questioning. CBI Joint Director Mr VV Lakshminarayana constituted several teams to question them and record their statements in the scam.

In a related development, Mr Vijayasai reddy, vice-chairman of the Jagathi Publications, attended the CBI interrogation for the 11th consecutive day today at its offices in Koti. Along with him, the representatives of YSR Construction and Saraswathi Power also attended the question-answer session in the case registered against YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy for allegedly possessing illegal wealth.

The CBI earlier said that it would question seven to eight villa owners daily for some days in the APIIC-Emaar land scam.
