Govt given time to solve T employees’ issues

Swami Goud, talks, Telangana employees associations The talks between the government and the leaders of the Telangana employees’ associations ended in failure today and the leaders announced that non-cooperation movement would continue.

Further, the leaders set a deadline of February 24 to the government to accept their demands and said they would decide their future course of action after expiry of the deadline.

Mr Swami Goud, chairman of employees’ associations told media persons after the failed talks in Hyderabad that the cabinet sub-committee has made it clear to them that the Telangana issue is not in their hands and there is nothing the government can do about it. “They requested us to give up the non-cooperation movement but we refused to heed the request,” Goud said.

He further said they have requested the government to take a delegation of employees to Delhi and arrange a meeting with the congress party president Sonia Gandhi and PM Dr Manmohan Singh to discuss their demands which now included formation of separate state of Telangana.
The other demands of the T employees included ratification of the free zone by the President and strict implementation of the 610 GO. “We set a deadline to till February 24 to the government,” he said.
