Paddy Issue: Talks Fail Between Centre And Telangana Government:- The Telangana government has been keen on Centre to procure the paddy that is produced during the upcoming Rabi season but the Centre is not in a mood. The leaders of Telangana have been mounting pressure through protests. Telangana Chief Minister KCR met various leaders in the national capital and the Centre revealed that the decision will be revealed on November 26th. The talks between the Centre and the government of Telangana failed after Centre told that they would not purchase the paddy from Telangana during the upcoming Rabi season. The Centre asked the farmers of Telangana not to sow paddy during the rabi season.

Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution System participated in the talks with the delegation of Telangana leaders. S Niranjan Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Ch Malla Reddy along with the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other officials participated in the meeting. They placed two demands before the Centre and the talks failed. The first demand was to procure paddy from Telangana during the rabi season and the second is to declare the target of the annual paddy procurement. The Centre made it clear that they are not in a mood to procure the paddy from the state.
