SA Cong MPs ask Azad not to divide state

SeemaAndhraMpCongress MPs of the Seema Andhra region today met the Union Health Minister and in charge of party affairs in AP Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad in Delhi and discussed various issues relating to the state including the issue of Telangana.

Except for Kavuri Sambasiva Rao who was held up in Hyderabad on some personal work, all MPs of the region attended the meeting with Azad and reportedly told him that the state should not be divided.

Earlier, all congress MPs of the T region attended a meeting with Azad in his chambers and gave him a deadline of May 15 for formation of Telangana state. Azad told them that he would talk to the Seema Andhra MPs and then arrange a combined meeting of all congress MPs of the state to discuss the issue amicably. Some congress MPs of the T region reportedly told him that they would not attend such a meeting as it would not be useful for the formation of Telangana.

When Azad met Seema Andhra MPs later, most of MPs told him not to think of dividing the state. Union Minister Purandhareswari was very vocal in her demand that the state should not be divided under any circumstances.
