The TRS senior leader Harish Rao said Bhadrachalam will be made a separate district after Telangana is formed. He said that the party will fight also for Bhadrachalam also like it did for Hyderabad city. He said that Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam are part and parcel of Telangana and the party is not ready to lose either of them.

Harish Rao promised that if the Bhadrachalam which now is in Khammam District is not kept remained in the Telangana Region, a bandh call will be given opposing it.

TRS is not ready to leave anything that is revenue giving.  Like Hyderabad Bhadrachalam also is a revenue generating place as a pilgrim center developed and it became famous during the last 10 years.  Preaviously they fought for the Bayyaram mines leasing to Visakha Steel.  They are also fighting on Singareni Collieries Coal Mines.

Whatever may be the political mileage in all this, the party’s efforts to make the Telangana State rich after bifurcation is appreciated by Telangana leaders.

As far as Bhadrachalam is concerned, TRS leaders previously said that it is part of Telangana for which the history of the pilgrim place stands for it. Ramadasu who constructed Bhadrachalam temple was the Tahsildar for Bhadrachalam appointed by the Nizam ruler Tanisha whose fort was Golconda in the jail of which Ramadasu was imprisoned for diverting the Government funds to construct the Ram temple at Bhadrachalam.
